Bio

Jessica Chen is the lead of the Bioinformatics Research and Development Team in the Enteric Diseases Laboratory Branch, at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Prior to joining CDC, Jessica was a postdoc at the University of British Columbia. Jessica received her PhD in Animal Science with an emphasis on microbial food safety from Texas Tech University in 2013. Jessica also holds an MS in Animal Science from Colorado State University and a BS in Food Science from Cornell University. Jessica is an active member of the Georgia Association for Food Protection. In her spare time Jessica enjoys spending time with her family, playing board games, hiking Georgia’s parks, and birding.
