Dr. Fernando Sampedro is an Associate Professor at the University of Minnesota, USA. He holds a MSc. and PhD in Food Science & Technology. For the last 10 years, Dr. Sampedro has focused his research in the areas of food processing, food safety and risk analysis.
He has collaborated with a number of industry (National Pork Board, American Feed Industry Association, Dole Latin America, Cargill, American Frozen Food Institute, 3M), federal agencies (USDA), non-governmental organizations (ILSI) and international agencies (FAO, WHO, IICA and USAID) on food safety capacity-building and consultancy projects nationally and internationally.
He is a passionate instructor with strong communication and multicultural skills. He has delivered workshops and seminars to food safety professionals in 15 countries around the globe in the areas of food safety, risk analysis and FSMA. He is bilingual in Spanish and English.
