Bio

I’m a food microbiologist working to better understand how postharvest interventions can improve short- and long-term safety and quality of fresh produce. My expertise includes project management, organization, and problem-solving. I enjoy interpreting and communicating scientific literature and regulatory directives to experienced and new food safety professionals, in addition to aiding industry personnel in the development and implementation of food safety plans and training. My colleagues would describe me as precise, thoughtful, resourceful, and culture- and team-oriented. Currently, I am seeking opportunities that will allow me to liaise and solve problems in the food industry, educate consumers, and influence food and nutrition policy. Specific fields of interest include farm food safety, regulatory compliance, and education and training.
